Mike Newell, director of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, is my new personal hero. He had this to say: "I was very anxious to break the franchise out of this goody-two-shoes feel. It's my view that children are violent, dirty, corrupt anarchists." I'll be filing a petition for his Nobel peace prize nomination in the coming weeks.
Speaking of Alfred Nobel, I was in Stockholm over the weekend (pics to come soonish). The city is hands down one of the most beautiful places I've been.. every street you walk down just glows. Aside from the gloomy weather, we had an amazing time. The food was good, the clubs were good, the atmosphere was breathtaking. Mamma Mia was unfortunately booked until the end of time, but I contented myself to just be in the city of ABBA, jerking off to Knowing Me and Knowing You in the bathroom.
Also on this trip, straight crushes #6 and #7 met for the first time and quickly bonded.. always cute to see boys playing nice with each other. However, after spending much of the last two months staring at 6, I think I've had my fill. I mean he's got eyes like dark chocolate truffles and a smile that could short out the power to most of Scandinavia, but goddamn it if he isn't one of the biggest himbos I've ever met. Hmmyeah, now who does that sound like? Luckily this crush didn't last as long as that one, but that one was fueled by both a pretty face and the unparalleled aphrodisiac of rejection. When did a pretty face (and, let's face it, an amazing body) become not enough for me? *sigh* Pretty people should just be kept in cages.. they can preen and hunt and mate for the enjoyment of everyone, but they stay behind bars where they can't hurt anybody.
Right. So I e-mailed my new boss for the first time today.. my new boss as in my boss' boss' boss, the 300 lb man they shipped over from Redmond. I don't know why I'm so nervous to talk to him - I feel like I should treat him like some kind of deity who controls my fate. Perhaps that's just my subconscious trying to weasel a "legitimate business trip" to Seattle out of the guy. He seems nice enough, though, and he thinks MBF will be the next big thing for Microsoft.. the little business framework that could, I suppose. Now to order his vat of Swiss chocolate as a hello gift.
